The assignment reads “Research the topic of Information Technology, and how it is used to develop a CA. Then, formulate a way(s) in which to convert it into a sustainable CA using IT. Be sure to give examples.”
Be sure to make SPECIFIC suggestions and use examples. A common error is just to do a short report on the use of IT/MIS/BI in general. I want you to think of a specific way to use these technologies to create a competitive advantage.

Chapter 2 in your textbook discusses Identifying Competitive Advantage (CA). Most CA’s are short-lived and typically mitigated by rivals and market competitors. That is to say, if you sell a product or provide a service at a lower cost point, so will your competitors. A sustainable CA is one that is not easily imitable, rare, has value, and typically can’t be substituted by offering a similar product or service. The IT section of your presentation should include Business Intelligence (BI) as a means for a sustainable CA.
Research the topic of Information Technology, and how it is used to develop a CA. Then, formulate a way(s) in which to convert it into a sustainable CA using IT. Be sure to give examples.
Develop a Power Point Presentation, at least 7 slides in length outlining a sustainable CA using IT.
Please follow the format for Power Point presentations found in the resources section of the course.
You have two options in submitting your presentation: you can make an appointment with your instructor and deliver it as a video conference; or you can prepare a video recording of your presentation using Skype for Business or another video software program and submit it to your instructor. In either case the requirements are the same and you will be graded using the same grading rubric. Your presentation should be 3-5 minutes and thoroughly cover your CA.
